Hosted by the Macao SAR Government, the “2023 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2023MIECF) held the “Green Public Day” today (20 August), offering a series of educational activities to raise public awareness of environmental protection and encourage the public to practise a green lifestyle.

Promoting environmental protection through diversified green elements

Every year, the “Green Public Day” organises a series of educational activities related to environmental protection to keep the public up to date on the latest environmental information and technologies, so as to enhance public awareness of environmental protection. This year’s “Green Public Day” has organised a number of educational activities incorporating diversified green elements, including the Green Showcase, environmental workshops, Eco Fun counter, booth games, stage games, and lucky draw. The mascots of the Environmental Protection Bureau were also on-site to take pictures and interact with the public, promoting green concepts through edutainment. The “Green Public Day” attracted a large number of participants, creating a lively atmosphere. In addition, the 2023MIECF also arranged guided tours for student groups during which professional guides introduced the different products and technologies on display. Furthermore, the 2023MIECF offered free electric shuttle buses on four routes travelling between Central Macao, Northern Macao, Taipa, and the MIECF venue to facilitate green mobility.

Participants explore green Macao through technical visits

In order to enhance participants’ understanding of the latestenvironmental technology, the 2023MIECF arranged technical visits to the Macao Electronic and Electrical Equipment Recycling Treatment Facility and the Cotai Ecological Zones, allowing the participants to immerse themselves in the green side of Macao and exchange views on environmental technologies.
