These sessions intend to inform attendants of the progress made in relevant industries in recent years so that they can seize the underlying opportunities for green development.

This year’s Green Forum will continue to focus on the frontier environmental topics that have gained traction worldwide. “Session 2: Green Innovation Drives High-Quality Development” will be held in the Sicily Meeting Room at The Venetian Macao on the morning of the second day of the event (18 August). A number of renowned experts and scholars specialising in environmental protection inside and outside China will be invited, including Ling Jiang, Supervisory Commissioner of the General Affairs Department, Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China; José Carlos Pimenta Machado, Vice-President of the Portuguese Environment Agency; Liu Liming, Level IV Consultant of the Research Division, Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China; Liu Wei, Director of the Pollution Source Management Division, Beijing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau; Wen Zongguo, Tenured Professor of the School of Environment, Tsinghua University; and Ricardo Guggisberg, President of the Brazilian Institute of Sustainable Mobility. The session will be hosted by Kou Kun Pang, Vice Chairman of the Consultative Committee of Environment of the Macao SAR Government, and participants will be engaged in in-depth interactions and discussions with regard to high-quality development driven by green innovation.

In addition to encouraging more participation at home and abroad through livestreaming and simultaneous interpreting during the Green Forum, the 2023MIECF will continue to apply for professional accreditation for designated forums and issue certificates of attendance to online and offline attendees, effectively leveraging the MIECF’s role as a platform for professional knowledge sharing.
