2023MIECF Green Forum Highlights Innovative Solutions for Air Pollution, Waste and Wastewater to Professional Sectors

Hosted by the Macao SAR Government, the 2023 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2023MIECF) will be held from 17 to 20 August, under the theme of “Building an Ecological Civilisation Through Innovative Initiatives”. Four Green Forum sessions will be held during the event to explore the path to green and low-carbon development, which will be joined by domestic and overseas experts, scholars, and industry professionals.


On the second day of the event (18 August), Session 3 of the Green Forum will be held in the afternoon in the Sicily Meeting Room at The Venetian Macao, under the theme of “Finding Innovative Solutions for Air Pollution, Waste and Wastewater Management” which are crucial for building an ecological civilisation and promoting sustainable development. In this session, experts, scholars, and industry professionals are invited to share their leading experiences and insights with a focus on diversified environmental governance and sustainable solutions, to explore more comprehensive and diverse innovative technologies and their application, aiming to better construct the ecological civilisation and achieve sustainable development goals of the society.


The host has invited Mr Eddie Lee, Principal Environmental Protection Officer (Air Science and Modelling) of the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department; Mr Li Huiquan, Professor of the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Mr Liu Ming, Senior Engineer of the South China Institute of Environmental Science, Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China; Ms Adriana Gonzalez Ospina, Technical & Innovation Wastewater Manager of the Suez Engineering & Construction; and Mr Ho De Leong, Chairman of the Waste Management Association of Malaysia. This session will be moderated by Professor Wong Seng Fat, Alfred, Interim Master of the Cheng Yu Tung College, University of Macau.


The speakers will focus their presentations on “Hong Kong’s Innovations in Enhancing Air Quality Management Capability”, “Innovation Progress in Solid Waste Resource Utilisation Technology”, “Emissions and Control of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from Domestic Sources in China”, “Micropollutants Removal in Wastewater Treatment Plants”, and “Overview of Waste Management in Malaysia: Challenges and Moving Forward” respectively.


Livestreaming and simultaneous interpretation will be available during the Green Forum. Certificates of attendance will be issued to online and offline participants in relevant sessions.
