Green Public Day will be held tomorrow (30 March), the last day of the 2024 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2024MIECF). On this day, members of the public will be able to experience the rich and diverse green elements of the MIECF on-site free of charge, obtain the latest environmental information and broaden their green horizons through the MIECF platform, contributing to their adoption of a green and low-carbon lifestyle.
The 2024MIECF is themed around “Reaching the Dual Carbon Goals through Green Transformation”. On tomorrow’s Green Public Day, members of the public are welcome to visit the Green Showcase for free to learn about the latest environmental information and technologies from various countries and regions and to develop a better understanding of the MIECF. There will be a series of parent-child activities on environmental protection, including stage games, booth games, environmental workshops, and a lucky draw. In addition, anyone registering at the “Eco Fun” will receive 50 bonus points, and participants in any on-site activity may win eco-friendly gifts. The mascots of the Environmental Protection Bureau will also be present to promote environmental concepts, such as green and low-carbon practices. All are welcome to interact and take photos with them. It is hoped that the MIECF can help promote environmental concepts and encourage the public to build a green future and work towards the “dual carbon” goals in a fun way.
To encourage green commuting, four electric shuttle bus routes will be available free of charge between Central Macao, Northern Macao, Taipa and the MIECF venue on Green Public Day to motivate the public to engage in low-carbon behaviours. For details, please visit www.macaomiecf.com.
Moreover, technical visits will be organised tomorrow (Saturday) morning to further strengthen the exchange on environmental protection, where participants will visit Macao Electronic and Electrical Equipment Recycling Treatment Facility and the Cotai Ecological Zones. Interested parties are welcome to register in advance.
