MIECF - A Regional Platform for Effective Exchanges in Environmental Protection
The Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) is hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, with the support of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China. It is co-organised by the governments of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (PPRD), and co-ordinated by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA).
MIECF was launched in 2008 and accredited by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in 2011. Over the years, it has been committed to improving the exhibition and its supporting services, hosting a train of high-level exchange activities, including themed conferences, green forums, project promotion and business matchmaking. In accordance with the “1+4” appropriate diversification development strategy, the event focuses on the green development of the tourism and leisure industry, as well as the four key industries, to further facilitate the international exchange and co-operation on environmental protection between governments, industries, universities, research institutes, users and investors, fully showcasing its role as a professional international platform for environmental protection.
Theme: Reaching the Dual Carbon Goals through Green Transformation
The 2024MIECF will serve as the third professional forum and exhibition held in succession on “carbon neutrality”, accompanied by a string of professional international forums, exhibitions, business matching, as well as the Green Public Day and different exchange activities, to advance green and sustainable development in line with the country’s "dual carbon" goals and the key environmental protection policies enacted by the Macao SAR Government, including the Long-term Decarbonization Strategy of Macao.
This year, the 2024MIECF will cover an assortment of topics, such as green transformation, ESG (environmental, social and governance), green finance and green technology industries, where experts will be invited to share new environmental protection technologies and their applications and discuss green development paths; in the meantime, the exhibition will include products and services on environmental protection, including carbon neutrality technology, energy management, water resource management, green transportation, sewage treatment, eco-city integration and green buildings, in an effort to motivate enterprises’ green transformation and join forces to explore green business opportunities.
