Professor Wen Zongguo
Tenured Professor of the School of Environment, Tsinghua University
Professor Wen Zongguo is a professor and a doctoral supervisor of the School of Environment, Tsinghua University, and an honorary professor of the University College London. He is currently the Director of the Circular Economy Industry Research Center and the Director of the Industrial Energy Conservation and Green Development Evaluation Center. He engages in urban solid waste disposal and resource recycling, and engineering research on industrial carbon reduction systems. Winner of the 4th Scientific Exploration Award and the first Qingshan Science and Technology Award, Professor Wen was also selected as one of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, China 10,000-Scholar Scientific Innovation Leadership Talent Award and Yangtze River Scholar Distinguished Young Professor. He provides consulting services for major decisions in the field of resources and environment to the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Professor Wen had presided over more than 20 national projects such as the 973 Plan, Key Research and Development Plan and Natural Science Fund. His scientific research achievements allowed him to win the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, the first prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, and the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of other provincial and ministerial levels and societies. Professor Wen co-published 22 books and more than 130 SCI papers.
