Wu Xuefang

GCF Wu XuefangPh.D., graduated from Peking University, specialized in Atmospheric Physics and Atmospheric Environment. Currently, Director of the Institute of Environmental Science Research Institute, China Environmental Science Institute.Member of the Board of Directors of China Environmental Science Society; Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Environmental Standards and Benchmarks Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Environmental Science; Executive Member of the Environmental and Ecotoxicology Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Toxicology; Director of China Association for Standardization.

Dr. Wu worked for many years in the revision and research of environmental standards, having presided over the revision of dozens of the country´s major environmental standards, including the “Ambient Air Quality Standard (GB3095-2012), “Thermal Power Plant Air Pollutant Emission Standards” (GB13223-2003), and (GB13223-2011). He has also chaired the formulation of the country´s Air Protection Standards under the 10th 5-Year Plan. He was also engaged the research of major items, namely, Environmental Quality Standards Methodological Research” and “Environmental Standards for the Destruction of Chemical Weapons Abandoned in China by Japan”. He also made substantial  contributionto energy saving and emission reduction, especially in the areas of of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, heavy metals and other pollutions. He was awarded 2 First Class Provincial Prizes and 3 Second-Class Provincial Prizes and 3 Third Class Prizes. He has trained over 10 graduates and guided many Ph.D. postgraduates in science-related research works.
