MIECF – A Regional Platform for Effective Exchanges in Environmental Protection
The Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) is hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, and co-organised by the governments of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (PPRD).
Since its debut in 2008, MIECF has seen continuous improvements and was accredited by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in 2011. MIECF brings together a series of professional international forums, exhibitions, business matching and networking activities, in which both local and overseas participants take part. By organising high-level delegations to take part in the event, it promotes international co-operation among governments, industries, universities, research institutes, users and investors in the environmental protection area. MIECF aims to grow into an international exchange and co-operation platform that promotes technology transfer and sustainable development for the environmental protection sector in the “Belt and Road” countries and regions, the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (PPRD), the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Portuguese-speaking countries, European countries and the rest of the world.
Theme: Towards a Green and Low Carbon New Era
Green and low carbon development is not only a globally discussed issue concerning the implementation of the Paris Agreement, but it is also a key to China’s future development and a priority for countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” Initiative to achieve common development. With the theme “Towards a Green and Low Carbon New Era” and through case analysis, policy analysis, technology demonstrations and business networking, this year’s MIECF will, jointly with the participants, promote “dual circulation” – a new green economic development pattern.
