Hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and co-ordinated by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and the Environmental Protection Bureau, the 2021 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2021MIECF) under the theme “Towards a Green and Low Carbon New Era” is set to take place at The Venetian Macao from 5 to 7 August. The Green Public Day will be held on the last day of MIECF (7 August), providing the public with free access to green exhibitions on site to learn about the latest environmental developments and technologies. A series of on-site promotional and educational activities are also arranged for the public, from which the audience can learn how to live an eco-friendly life, echoing the theme of the 2021MIECF.

Activities offered by this year’s Green Public Day include an Environmental Workshop, Family Games, Green Guided Tour Service, an area of recycled articles, and a Lucky Draw. The mascots of the Environmental Protection Bureau—Mr Earth, Cloud Brother, Flower Sister and Baby Spoonbill—will also be on site to interact with the public, delivering all kinds of environmental information and calling on the public to participate in green and low-carbon activities.

The organiser hopes to encourage the general public to participate in MIECF, an international green event, through these highly educational activities, facilitate people’s active practice of various environmental deeds in daily life, and to promote the concept of green and low-carbon life.

To motivate people to opt for green transport, the 2021MIECF offers free shuttle buses on four routes on the Green Public Day travelling between Central Macao, Northern Macao, Taipa, and the exhibition venue of MIECF. On that day, complimentary self-parking is also available at Hall D of The Venetian Macao to drivers with entrance tickets to the Green Public Day stamped at reception in the activity area. Parking spots are offered on a first come, first served basis due to limited availability. It is encouraged to ride share with family and friends to participate in this eco-event at the venue of the MIECF.
