About MIECF

MIECF - A Regional Platform for Effective Exchanges in Environmental Protection

The Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) is hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, with the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China as special supporting organisations. It is co-organised by the governments of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (PPRD), and co-ordinated by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA).

MIECF was launched in 2008 and accredited by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in 2011. Over the years, it has hosted numerous high-profile events, including themed conferences, exhibitions, forums, project promotions, new product launches, and business matching sessions. In alignment with Macao's strategy of appropriate economic diversification, the MIECF focuses on the green development of the tourism and leisure industry, as well as the four key industries, to further strengthen international cross-sectoral environmental exchange and co-operation between governments, industries, education institutions, research institutes, users and investors. The ultimate goal is to accelerate Macao's appropriate economic diversification while promoting sustainable, high-quality development.

Theme: Innovation and Green Development – Solutions to Build Beautiful Cities

In line with the country’s “dual carbon” goals and the key environmental protection policies enacted by the Macao SAR Government, including the Long-term Decarbonization Strategy of Macao, the 2025MIECF will promote green and sustainable development by organising a series of professional and international forums, exhibitions, business matching, as well as the Green Public Day and different exchange activities, with a view to empowering innovative and green development and encouraging residents to reduce carbon emissions and build a beautiful city together.

MIECF, as a highly efficient regional environmental exchange platform, will serve as a professional exhibition on realising “carbon neutrality” for the fourth consecutive year. This year the event will cover an assortment of topics, including green transformation, ESG (environmental, social, and governance), low-carbon green city transformation, and green technology industries. Experts and industry representatives will be invited to share advanced environmental information and technology, collaboratively exploring new directions in green sustainable development. The exhibition will also showcase environmental protection projects in carbon neutrality, green future industries, circular economy, new energy, water resource management, and green buildings, providing innovative inspiration for green transformation and exploring new business opportunities in green, low-carbon circular development.
