Zhang Zhe is currently in charge of the domestic trade exhibitions that are jointly held by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (hereafter MOFCOM) and other provinces. Such exhibitions include China Food & Catering Expo, China Green Food Expo, Western China International Sourcing Fair, and so on. Furthermore, he manages the operations of internal and external industry-based exhibitions such as the Meat Expo China, China International Gem Fair, and IFFA. He has been commissioned by the MOFCOM to launch a series of initiatives aiming at promoting the convention and exhibition industry: he carries out the statistical and monitoring scheme for the convention and exhibition industry in mainland China, revises industrial standards, conducts research in the area of exhibitions, establishes the credibility system, and provides training to staff working in the industry. He has also completed successive projects such as the “Research Report on the Establishment of Credibility System for China’s Exhibition Industry” and the “Statistical and Analysis Report of China’s Exhibition Industry (2016)”. In addition, he formulated industrial standards for domestic trade, namely, the “Regulation for Energy Saving and Consumption Reducing in Convention and Exhibition Industry” and the “Regulation for Booth Classification and Technical Specifications”. Apart from these, he has also drafted the “Statistical and Monitoring System for the Exhibition Industry” of the MOFCOM, conducted grant projects for the exhibition efforts of small and medium enterprises, and evaluated the MOFCOM’s project of major contacted enterprises (entities) in the exhibition industry.
