Mr. Jiang Xiaoting, President, Sichuan Province Environmental Science Association
Bios In January 2017, Mr. Jiang Xiaoting position was upgraded from department head of Sichuan Environmental Protection Department to Counselor of the People’s Government of Sichuan Province and has taken responsibilities as the Chairman of Sichuan Society for Environmental Sciences and Commission of Environment Consultation and Decision-making of Sichuan Province. He was a college teacher, General Manager of Sichuan Fifth Mining and Machine Import and Export Co. ltd, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Economic and Trade in Sichuan Province, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce in Sichuan Province, Secretary and Mayor of Municipal Party of Leshan City, Head of Sichuan Environmental Protection Department and Head of Sichuan Nuclear Security. In his 7 years on the position as the Head of Sichuan Environmental Protection Department, the provincial environment improvement accelerated obviously and environment management system was established gradually. Sichuan is among the first batches to initiate the provincial environmental inspection and has achieved the goal to transfer the inspection on enterprises to the combination of inspection on both enterprise and government. Under the general condition of sustainable economical development and acceleration of urbanization, general environment quality improved steadily and much of the environmental protection work has got highly approved by former Ministry of Environmental Protection and the People’s Government of Sichuan. Mr. Jiang Xiaoting definitely has great influence in Chinese environmental protection. Mr. Jiang has also organized to develop lots of documents which have innovation and revolution meanings, such as the Opinions on Accelerate the Foreign Economic Cooperation in Sichuan province; the Suggestions and Measures of Sichuan Province to Apply to the China’s Entry of WTO; the Strategic Research on Sichuan’s “go out ”Implementation; the Ecological Civilization System Reform of Sichuan Province; the Opinions on Implementation of Sichuan Ecological Red Line and the Ecological Compensation Measures on Sichuan “Three-River” Water Region and so on. Mr. Jiang is visiting professor of Sichuan University, Southwest Jiaotong University, etc. He was often invited by local government and party Committee to teach a lesson and he is very welcomed by local government and party leaders and university teachers and students. |
