Li WeiZhen , Director, Department of Water Ecology and Environment of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China
Topic: China’s Management Policies for Water Ecology and Environment Ms. Li Weizhen, born in 1980, graduated from the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering of Tsinghua University with a master degree in Environmental Engineering. Her field is in the management of aquatic ecology environments. In recent years, Ms. Li has been responsible for the national water ecology and major environment action plans as well as the major national projects for protecting the water quality such as the environment protection of drinking water sources and the South-to-North Water Transfer. The speech will briefly introduce the development process of water pollution prevention and control in China, the general framework and implementation progress of the Water Pollution Control Action Plan , as well as the actions for clean water such as the treatment of urban black and odor water, water source protection, Yangtze River protection and restoration etc. |
