Mr. Peter Wheeler, Partner of the Silk Road Financial Speaker Bio: Mr. Peter Wheeler has over 30 years of experience in investment and wholesale banking. From 1985 to 2001 Mr. Wheeler worked in New York, Hong Kong and Singapore for Goldman Sachs in investment banking, corporate finance and capital markets. He became a Partner of the firm in 1994 and led the establishment of the firm’s investment banking business in Asia. He led the Goldman Sachs team on many of the first wave of cross-border capital markets transactions for Chinese State-Owned Enterprises. From 2008-2010 he worked at Standard Chartered Bank as the Head of Wholesale Banking West, including EMEA and the Americas. In addition to his duties at SRFC, Mr. Wheeler also serves as an Executive Vice President at The Nature Conservancy, the world’s largest conservation organization, and as a Co-Founder and Trustee at New Philanthropy Capital, having served in the latter position for 15 years. He was co-founder and Director of Climate Change Capital. Today Mr. Wheeler also serves as a board member of Rift Valley Corporation, a large family owned farming group operating in Eastern and Southern Africa. Mr. Wheeler holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Oxford University. |
