Inauguration of 2016MIECF on March 31, New Elements to Deepen Environmental Co-operation in the PPRD

Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition 2016 (2016MIECF) will be held for three consecutive days (from March 31 to April 1), starting next Thursday at the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel. After nine years of development, MIECF has become a platform for the operators of the environmental industry in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, and even across the world, to share and develop environmental technologies, information and business.

Since its inception in 2008, the provinces and regions in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (PPRD), known as “9+1”, have always been acting as Co-organizers of MIECF, sending, on a yearly basis, high-level delegations to participate in the related activities in Macao. MIECF has thus become an environmental brand event under the framework of the PPRD Regional Cooperation.

Over 215 PPRD exhibitors will gather at the 2016MIECF

2016MIECF, scheduled to be held from March 31 to April 2, will have 460 exhibitors showcasing their products and services at a venue covering approximately 16,900 square metres. The event has attracted exhibitors from over 20 countries and regions. This year, MIECF continues to enjoy an energetic support by the governments and related agencies of the provinces and regions comprising the “9+1”, and has attracted over 215 participating units.

Building a new bridge for environmental co-operation in the PPRD

In addition to keeping up with the PPRD Green Forum, a new session has been added with the title of “PPRD Regional Environmental Technology Seminar”. Subsequent to the recent promulgation of the “Guideline on Deepening the Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Co-operation” by the State Council, a closer environmental co-operation in the PPRD will emerge.

“Green Session – Solid Waste Management Policies and Technology in the PPRD” will take place on April 1 at 3:15 p.m., at the Sicily Room (2401-2502) of Venetian Macau Resort Hotel. The said session will feature presentation on the latest management policies of each province and region within the PPRD, as well as exchange on the latest technologies and products for the treatment of solid waste. “PPRD Regional Environmental Technology Seminar” will be held on the same day at 5:00 p.m., at the lobby of Sicily Room. Apart from representatives of the PPRD “9+2” provinces and regions, environmental elites from Europe, Portuguese-speaking Countries, United States and Southeast Asia will be invited to participate and jointly conduct in-depth exchanges on individual technical solutions related to environmental protection.
