Dr. Peng Xiaohui, Executive Associate Director of GuangDong South China Low-Carbon Research Institute* (Mainland China)

Speaker Bio: GuangDong South China Low-Carbon Research Institute is a comprehensive scientific research institution that integrates policy research, decision-making consultation, industrial development and technology application, and is also the earliest comprehensive scientific research institution engaged in the research of ecological civilization construction in China. The team currently has 65 professional practitioners, who cover regional economy, industrial planning, low-carbon technology, measurement and statistics, environmental engineering, computer, finance and other fields. Since its establishment, the research institute has obtained dozens of software copyrights, utility model patents, and invention patents; it has undertaken more than a thousand scientific research projects at all levels in the country; it has undertaken 21 national mobile laboratory standard revision tasks; 7 domestic low-carbon industry standards compilation tasks; 5 professional industry training materials were compiled, and more than 1,000 national carbon asset managers and carbon traders were jointly trained by the Guangzhou Carbon Emissions Exchange and Sun Yat-sen University.

Ms. Peng Xiaohui is the Associate Direct of the Research Institute. She holds a Ph.D. in environmental ecology from Pennsylvania State University, a Ph.D. in Economics from Fudan University, Energy Manager”, member of the Chinese delegation to the United Nations Climate Summit. She is also the representative of the 15th National People’s Congress of Guangzhou, the March 8 Red Banner Bearer, “a National Carbon Trader, a National Carbon Assets Manager, a National Senior Energy Manager”, and a member of the Chinese delegation to the United Nations Climate Summit.
