Environmental issues are urgent affairs and we have to act now, individually and collectively. Doing its part in the |
| |
|
global drive for Sustainable Development, and with a high sense of shared responsibility, Macao SAR will take a |
| |
|
proactive lead in hosting a forum to promote “Thinking Green, Going Clean and Living Cool”. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Green technologies and solutions are no more a pipe dream for debates.They are now fast becoming the main business |
| |
|
topic on the tables, drawing boards of corporate boardrooms and cutting through research and innovations like never |
| |
|
before. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
In this regard, 2008 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2008MIECF) a |
| |
|
government-led conference event, supplemented by an accompanying exhibition will provide a platform for |
| |
|
sharing the latest information on environmental issues, which call for immediate attention and urgent response. |
| |
|
The event is aimed at experts, governments, industries, financial institutions, NGOs and civil society, so as |
| |
|
to promote greater international co-operation on the environment. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
2008 MIECF will bring together some of the world’s leading experts who will discuss the critical issues concerning |
| |
|
Energy, Water, Clean Production & Industrial Processes, and Agriculture & Forestry. Each of the strands of the forum |
| |
|
will be held concurrently, focusing on environmental issues and solutions of high competency, with presentations from |
| |
|
the scientific community and the industries. |

|
The exhibition will showcase the latest advances in environmental technology, state-of-the-art techniques and |
| |
|
methodologies, and will promote smart partnership between providers and end-users, with a view to supporting long- |
| |
|
term conversion towards the green economy, thus ultimately effecting ecological equilibrium. |
